How the Trojan Noise Nuisance Recorder Works
Step 1 – Plug in
When the Trojan is connected in the box, it is automatically configured into Noise Nuisance mode. Everything is setup for you so there’s no need to set any parameters, functions or measurements. Connect the microphone and power and you’re ready to go.
Step 2 – Switch on
Simply switch on the power supply and the Trojan will start up. There’s no need to do anything else and as the instrument is already programmed and setup, you don’t need to make any adjustments, corrections or configurations.
Step 3 – Calibrate
Simply attach the acoustic calibrator to the microphone and press the calibrate button. The instrument will automatically calibrate itself and make any required adjustments. The acoustic calibrator supplied with the Trojan is a full Class 1 unit with PTB Type Approval and will automatically correct itself for temperature and barometric pressure so you don’t need to do anything else.

Now you’re ready to go
That’s all you need to do to get the unit ready to go. Even if you forget to press the Start button, the Trojan will start automatically after 10 minutes. This also means that if the power is lost, the instrument will restart when power is reconnected. There’s no risk of you going back after a weekend and finding that there are no measurements because the instrument stopped when someone unplugged the power!
Very simple for the user to operate
Now, give the remote control to the user and tell them to press the Record button when they want to record the audio. The instrument will measure and store the noise levels automatically and when the record button is pressed the Trojan will start to record and store the audio.
High quality recordings with no fuss
There’s a 30 second pre-trigger so the audio is stored from starting 30 seconds before the button was pushed and a post-trigger as well. There’s also a maximum record time to limit the length of recordings so you don’t have to wade through hours of silence when you are listening to the recordings.
When you go back to collect the Trojan, open the case, press stop and switch off.
Risk free storage
All of the measurement data and audio recordings are stored into the protected memory so there’s no risk of you losing the information that you need.
Download your measurements quickly & simply
The data is downloaded quickly and simply to the NoiseTools software where you can view the measurements, listen to recordings and create quick and simple reports. All of the measurement data is available to you and you can dig down into the data to get as much detail as is needed.
Don’t forget that the NoiseTools software is supplied free from any licensing restrictions and can be installed onto as many PC’s as needed at no extra cost.
Calibrate your playback
If you want to play back the audio recordings to demonstrate what caused the noise, the unqiue playback calibration system will adjust the level from your speakers so that it is at the same level as the original recorded sound.
